Introduction to Soft Pack Lithium Battery
A soft pack lithium battery is just a liquid lithium-ion battery with a polymer shell. In terms of structure, aluminum-plastic film packaging is used, and in the event of safety hazards, the soft pack battery will only burst and crack at most.
The advantages of soft pack batteries
1. Good safety performance
Soft pack batteries, unlike steel and aluminum shell cells, can cause explosions.
2. Lightweight
Soft pack batteries are 40% lighter than steel shell lithium batteries of the same capacity and 20% lighter than aluminum shell batteries.
3. Large capacity
Soft pack batteries have a capacity 10-15% higher than steel shell batteries of the same size, and 5-10% higher than aluminum shell batteries.
4. Low internal resistance
The internal resistance of soft pack batteries is smaller than that of lithium batteries. Currently, the minimum internal resistance of domestic soft pack battery cells can reach below 35m Ω, greatly reducing the battery's self consumption.
5. Flexible design
The shape of the soft pack battery can be customized according to customer needs, and new battery cell models can be developed.
Disadvantages of Soft Pack Batteries
The existing models of soft pack battery cells are limited and cannot meet market demand;
The cost of developing new models is high.
The difference between lithium battery soft pack and hard pack
The difference between soft and hard packaging of lithium batteries mainly refers to the material of the lithium battery casing. If there is packaging on the outside, it is not easy to see it, and the battery body must be seen. The weight of steel shell batteries is more important than that of batteries of the same volume, but it is not easy to distinguish between aluminum shell and soft packaging. However, soft packaging batteries are slightly softer than aluminum shell batteries and can easily deform when broken by hand.
