Double-layer supercapacitor is a kind of supercapacitor and a new type of energy storage device. The double-layer capacitance is between the battery and the capacitance, and its huge capacity can be used as a battery completely. Compared with the battery based on electrochemical principle, the charge and discharge process of the double-layer capacitor does not involve the change of material at all, so it has the characteristics of short charging time, long service life, good temperature characteristics, energy saving and green environmental protection. The distance between the two electric layers of the double-layer capacitor is very small, which makes the withstand voltage very weak, generally not more than 20V, so it is usually used as the energy storage element in low voltage DC or low frequency situations.
